You are never too old to exercise through grief

I was talking to mum last night and was amazed at the age of 77 she has just purchased her first treadmill! Since losing Dad, mum has tried to keep active, she says that walking and activity helps keep themandiving.jpg depression and grief at bay.

I couldn’t agree more and have always encouraged her to get out into her garden, walk to the shop each day, anything that gets her out of the house and into the fresh air.

Exercise stimulates the brain, stimulates the right chemicals in the brain to fight off the depression. Now you may not be able to afford the gym, either in terms of money or time but walking is free and a wonderful way of helping you stay positive.

Mum getting a treadmill has improved my motivation today, I just have this image of her in skimpy shorts, a headband and a running vest..:)

So how much exercise do you do?

    Lol!

    When I think of how much time we find to sit in front of a TV etc then I am amazed we don’t find time to exercise our heart. Our heart is such a special organ, yet we take it for granted. For many months now I exercise for 40 minutes, three times a week as my way of helping my heart to keep me safe…
