When you feel down….smile
A smile is a wonderful tool when you are facing grief. Sounds a little silly I know, however a smile can make you feel a lot better, even if for a few moments. It helps those around you, it helps you. Smiling can seem wrong, you can feel guilty about smiling when you have lost someone so special but smile as you read this post - feel the difference it makes. Somehow you feel more relaxed, you feel better. It gives you that bit
of extra strength to cope with the feelings of depression.
Guilt over smiling and laughing is natural but in my opinion not right. You are a human being with pain in your heart but a life still to lead. If a smile or indeed a laugh lessons the cloak of grief for even just a few seconds - well, you deserve that moment of relief.
