Update from Joan
Regular readers will remember the inspiring story from Joan - if you didn’t read it, it is well worth clicking on the link - well, I e-mailed for an update as her story has remained firmly in my mind. Here is the reply:
“Thank you for keeping in touch and glad that I inspired your readers. I have booked my flight and also going to stop off and enjoy a safari, had a little trouble with insurance for my age but I was not going to take no for an answer. I have not had a drink and feel so much healthier for that. I still miss my husband, he really was my soul, my life but I keep telling him about my plans and I know that he will be smiling down on me. You ask me for advice, oh not sure I am the right person, but I would
say - when you lose a loved one, let that be a wake up call that life is so precious…don’t waste the years that you have left. You will join them soon enough and by filling the days with things that you have dreamed about doing, you will more stories to tell them. Send my love to all the readers out there Love Joan (87 years young)”
Wonderful, wonderful and so inspiring.
