Ten Ways I Know I am recovering from grief
A friend and I were talking about the process of grief and how you know if you are handling better than before, here are our combined 10 ways!
- I don’t burst into tears when someone is nice to me
- I am starting to think about the future and not the last 24 hours of his life
- I don’t constantly cuddle his jumper
- I can smile when I look at his photo
- I can talk about him without bursting into tears
- I accept what happened
- I can fall asleep …eventually
- I don’t shout him for his tea
- I don’t make 2 cups of coffee
- I can breathe without thinking
Have you got any to add to the list?

1. I don’t expect him to walk in the door
2. I don’t dream about the accident - I have good dreams now
3. I can laugh without feeling guilty
4. I can think about the good memories rather then the bad ones
5. I don’t pick up the phone to call him

Oh Tiffany I can so relate to those it is strange how our mind works. I have never tried to call but I have called him for his tea several times….and once even shouted as I couldn’t believe he had not come down to the kitchen!
