Lessons from Tibetan Monks
Over at MabelandHarry there are 10 lessons for leaders to learn from Tibetan Monks but as I read them I thought wow, they are great for everyone here is the list
Leaders can learn a lot from the Tibetan monks ability to control their emotions. Here are 10 lessons
- When you lose, don’t lose the lesson
- Follow the 3 R’s: Respect for self, respect for others, responsibility for all your actions.
- Spend some time alone each day.
- Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
- Love as if you’ve never been hurt.
- Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
- Once a year, go somewhere that you’ve never been before.
- Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
- Don’t let a little dispute ruin a great friendship.
- Open your arms to change but don’t let go of your values.
The ones that are in bold are the ones that really meant something to me. I think Number 5 is obviously one that we should all think about. OK are emotions may be raw but one day we will want to find love again. When that time comes think about that sentence - Love as if you’ve never been hurt - I think that is a phrase that we should think about….

“Work like you don’t need the money
Love like you’ve never been hurt
Dance like nobody’s watching”
After 10 years, I still doubt whether I could go through that again and come out sane.

Love that quote - as for not coming out sane you would, the human being is a wonderfully strong being when faced with crisis. It never fails to amaze me the strength that people find…thanks for your comment
