How your brain works
I came across this post about how your brain works. It is quite interesting and gives us some ideas of how to relieve stress, which when you lose someone is high.
- Walk beside a river and this reduces the hormone cortisol which generates stress.

- Solve one old problem in a new way today.
- Run from negative people.
- Drink water - it is fuel for a stress free brain.
- Reflect - and make choices that you can live with.
- Laugh
Now when I read this list, I though whoa they are difficult when you are suffering from bereavement. How do you laugh at grief, for instance. Then I had a go, when I was talking to my best friend I relayed stories from the past that were funny and do you know I felt better. Some of these are easier than others, but the question I asked myself was “Do I want to be depressed?” when the answer was no, I knew I had to learn more about the brain and take action.
