Hope for a Brighter Future
I love hearing from readers to Widows Quest who are starting to turn their life around after bereavement. Mary just posted a wonderful comment on Grab Life Before Death Gets There First. Her comment shows there is hope in a brighter future
“….I was having a hard time imagining what my new life would be like.
Now these are the things I’m looking forward to: a reunion with my sisters in May and a trip to San Francisco in July or August. Tomorrow I’m interviewing to be matched as a mentor for a girl in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.
I didn’t rush out to make changes but I’ve been trying to open my heart to new opportunities. To anyone else just starting this journey, I want to lend a word of encouragement. Your heart can heal one day at a time. When you look back next year, you’ll see how far you’ve come!”
I often talk about the importance of setting yourself goals and that is what I love
about Mary’s comment. We cannot change the past but we can create our own future by setting and achieving life goals. Mary also comments on the power of friendship within her comment and I think the more we can talk to friends who talk positively about the future…the quicker we start thinking ahead rather than of the past.
What goal will you set today? What are you going to do in the next 6 months that you can look forward to?

I’m not a widow, but I thought that ‘grabbing life’ is something I have to keep reminding myself to do. Thanks for the extra push!
