Widows Quest

Cycle Of Grief - Part 4

by anna on October 9th, 2006

Last week I explored the first 3 stages of grief, today I want to talk about the 4th - depair and depression. It is a horrible feeling, the feeling of just not wanting to carry on. Every thing seems unbearable, and nothing seems to interest you. This is a common experience and you must realise that this is a natural part of grief. The key part is that you must keep believing that there is a future. This blog is called a Widows Quest, and that is what it is…a quest to find a new knid of happiness.

When you are going through this stage - keep fighting, keep talking to people, keep crying - that releases the emotion. Try and not shut people out let them be there, let them help you come through this time in your life.

My mum could never see a way of getting through it…she was in her 70’s what was there left to love rainbowl1.jpgfor. Now she has joined together with other widows, goes on holidays, enjoys seeing her grandchildren grow into young men, and her daughters grew into the women that her and dad always wanted. She looks younger now at 76 then 3 years ago, she has rebuilt her life and is looking forward to her life. Her quest is underway and you will find your path…..slowly but surely.
