6 Tips on How to Stop Worrying
Worry affects your sleep, if affects your mood, it affects your help. I have even been known to worry about worrying!
Here are my 6 tips on how to stop those sleepless nights
- Take Charge. Accept what you can’t change and do what you can. It doesn’t need to be perfect, just take some action…you can always amend of neccessary.
- Get to the root. Be honest to yourself about what is really causing your worry. Is it being alone - or is it actually your self confidence? You can then take charge of the actual problem.
- Talk to people. A problem shared is a problem halved.
- Escape and treat yourself to a meal out, a walk, a book, a film…just take your mind off the worry, by giving it something else to think about…
- Step back. Sometimes we focus so much on the problem that we don’t stand back and think really should I be worrying about this…what would I think if this was someone else’s problem? Try and look at the problem from someone else’s point of view, this removes the emotional element.
- Be positive. I think if you don’t know what is the right answer, then just do something….and believe in something. Worry and inaction is gauranteed not to solve it, being positive about the solution is half the battle
