10 Things to Do When You Cannot Sleep

by anna on January 15th, 2008

The most asked question that I get asked is about those nights when you just cannot sleep and I wish I had a solution, but I don’t! Here are 10 things that I would suggest, that have worked for me when I have struggled to sleep - most tire you out so you are ready for some shut eye, but if you have any to share please leave a comment

  1. Read a book
  2. Clean out your wardrobe and put some order to it
  3. Make yourself a hot chocolate.agst
  4. Write a letter to yourself about your thoughts
  5. Put on your favourite relaxing CD
  6. Sleep in a different room - they say a change is as good as a rest!
  7. Look through the photo albums and allow your mind the chance to   remember
  8. Have a hot bath, with candles and relax
  9. Make a list of 10 goals you would like to achieve
  10. Curl up on the sofa and watch a black and white romantic movie and lose yourself in your thoughts

As I said there  is no right answer, it is what works for you. I always think if you cannot sleep, just get up and do something constructive, something that is tiring to help bring on the feeling of sleep. But what are you thoughts and tips of the widows trade?

I so admire people who have found their spirituality. I have struggled with that myself but I do believe that prayer can really help people with their grief. Thank you for sharing, thank you for reaching out to help people…I for one really appreciate it
